Studio Diary: Day 3

We're back at Canterbury for our third day! Today we're tracking vocals and horns. Our producer has been busy since the last sessions editing and balancing all of the rhythm section tracks to get them ready for us to sing and play to.

We have to say, things are sounding awesome! The band played with so much vibe and energy, making it super easy to get into the moment vocally.

We spend 1 1/2 to 2 hours on each song vocally and with the horns. This might sound like a lot if you've never played in the studio- but man does the time fly! We try to get everything just right with all of the cut-offs and vibrato matching. We joke a lot about "bringing our inner Maggie, Lizzy or Alex" depending on who is singing lead. It's always a fine balance trying to highlight the individual personality of each singer with the over-all vibe of the songs.

Stay tuned! We're back tomorrow and the next day finishing all the songs.
